Facebook adopt Twitter’s terminology and renaming “Subscribe” button as “Follow”

Facebook announced it will begin to change “Subscribe” button to “Follow” like Twitter.
There’s no functionality change, but it should make the feature more instantly understandable, and get more people to allow followers and follow others.

Currently, you can allow people you are not friends with to “subscribe” to your Facebook profile and see your public posts, but in the future, that feature will be referred to as “follow” instead.

Facebook says that “Today we are updating the term ‘Subscribe’ to become ‘Follow’ across the site, as we found it is a term that resonates better with people using the service.”

Of course, the term “follow” was made famous by Twitter, Facebook’s biggest rival in the social network market.
